Grace Academy Coventry, formally known as Woodway Park Secondary School was established a little over 2 years ago in Coventry in September 2008. The Grace Academy trademark has 2 schools and is in the process of buildings its third. The new Grace Academy Coventry build cost around £38 million and is a specialist Business & Enterprise School for years 7 to 13, approximately for ages 11 to 19 years. Grace Academy Coventry also offers many different activities out of school, such as basketball, netball, football, music and social activities. Grace Academy Coventry also has a variety of productions throughout the year, this year, 2010, the drama team have been creating a production for the Wizard of Oz, which will be preformed from 5th - 7th April 2011. Each academic day begins at 8:20am and classes finish at 3:20pm Monday to Thursday and 2.25pm on Friday, including a 15 minute break during the 3rd lesson, then a 30 minute break in the 4th lesson. The principal of Grace Academy Coventry is Mr. Steve Allen and he firmly believes that his teachers and staff should aim to raise the aspirations of students in order to lead them on to wider opportunities and greater achievements.
Grace Academy Coventry offers a diverse and vast education to all of its students based on individual abilities and skills and because of the attitudes of the outstanding teachers and staff, as well as the exceptional facilities and resources the new building has to offer, GAC is able to offer greater opportunities to its students. Each topic has its own ICT suit and its own department and head of department, ensuring each student is provided with the best help possible. Students are encouraged to work within their ability and so Grace Academy ensures that if you put your mind to it, you can achieve whatever you want to. Grace Academy endorses high standards and values from its staff and students which have proved to effect the actions and attitudes of all in the Academy; the GAC vales that are promoted throughout the school are: Grace, Integrity, Respect, and Potential.

As a GAC student, I feel that overall Grace Academy offers me an amazing education that I would not easily find anywhere else, others have also felt the benefit, which is reflected in this year's GCSE results;

Students achieving 5 or more A*-C grades: 94%
Students achieving 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Maths: 46%
Students achieving 5 or more A*-G grades: 95%
Average Point Score 520+ (National Average: 410)

As a year 10 student at GAC, I would recommend to any parent that if they want the best education by the best teachers for their children which will give them the best opportunities for their future, then Grace Academy Coventry is the school for you.
