People in Action, a not for profit charity that supports adults with learning disabilities has benefitted from the generosity of Nuneaton Lions and the Nuneaton Pantomime and Revue Society. On Friday 21 January staff and customers of the Bedworth based Charity were treated to a spectacular performance of Beauty and the Beast at the Civic Hall in Bedworth.

People in Action, a not for profit charity, was set up in 1984 and is committed to delivering responsive, person focussed, quality services to people with a learning disability, promoting their equal rights, together with full support for their families. The Charity which supports customers throughout Warwickshire and the Midlands, has offices in Bedworth, Leamington Spa, Worcester and Solihull. All staff are CRB checked and references taken. People in Action have their own training department and they offer full training and qualifications for staff up to NVQ 4 Level.

Richard Chattaway from Nuneaton Lions, had approached the charity to offer the donated tickets from the local revue society said, "As a social charitable organisation Nuneaton Lions are keen to support our local community sector. People in Action provides high quality services for people with learning disabilities within the community throughout Nuneaton and Bedworth. I am glad that the donated tickets have gone to a worthy cause."

Sara Doughty, Marketing and Project Manager for People in Action said, "People in Action were delighted to receive the donated tickets. The pantomime was a real treat for our customers and the staff enjoyed it too! As a community based charity that supports people with learning disabilities we are committed to championing the right of our customers to take part in activities that are available to the wider community. Supporting people with learning disabilities should not just be about providing care at home it's about helping our customers to live full and meaningful lives. Social and leisure pursuits are encouraged such as going to the theatre, days out, movies, shopping or going on holiday. Having the opportunity to see Beauty and the Beast at the Civic Hall meant that our customers, like hundreds of other local residents last Friday, had a great night out. I would like to thank the Nuneaton Pantomime and Revue Society and Nuneaton Lions for supporting People in Action."
